Adult/Young Adult Workshop Descriptions

PERSONAL SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Your Life In Christ:   Is Christ really in your life? 

This class will focus on establishing a life long relationship with Christ.  It will help you to appreciate the use of spiritual resources to mature your life as a Christian.  The class will discuss the importance of the Holy Spirit, Bible Study, Prayer, Faith and other essentials necessary for the believer to excel in Christian Living.

BIBLICAL STUDIES

The Old Testament Prophets:  The Call, The Message, The Times  

This class will focus on the Major and Minor Prophets.  It will introduce the participants to the times of the Prophets and how God called them to deliver messages to the nation of Israel.  The class will introduce major themes and will help you to have a basic understanding of who the Prophets are, how God called them, the major theme of their message, and times of their ministry.

Who Do Men Say That I Am?  The Life, Teachings and Times of Christ 

How much do you know about Jesus Christ?  This class will help you learn more about Him by providing an overview of his life and ministry and introducing you to the basic concepts of Christology (the study of Christ).

CHURCH DOCTRINE

What Baptist Believe and Why We Believe It

The class will make the connection with the Bible, tenets and practices of the Baptist Faith.  It will address the major underlying teachings that highlight what Baptist believe and why they believe it.  The class will help participants to have a ready defense for those who ask; “Why are you Baptist?”

THE CHRISTIAN FAMILY

Challenges and Issues Facing the 21st Century Christian Family

The class will identify the difficulties that confront Christian families in our contemporary culture.  It will offer the students practical Christian teachings, resources and strategies to help families confront social and moral vices used by Satan to attack, fracture and destroy Christian families.

Successfully Single In the 21st Century *

Is it difficult being a single person and a Christian?  Join your fellow single Christians and participate in discussions that focus on how to live your best life as a Christian while conquering spiritual, social and contemporary challenges with God as your guide.

The Joy of Marriage:  Working Together To Make Your Marriage Work **

When married couples work together with and for the singular purpose of making the marriage work there will always be joy in the marriage.  This class is designed to help provide married couples with insights from the Bible to keep their marriages on track, strengthen the “oneness” of their relationship, identify Christ in the marriage, and maximize joy in all phases of marriage.

Young Adults Streaming:  Staying In Touch With God Wherever You Are **

This class is designed to help young adults appreciate the need and realize the value for Christ in their lives.  The class will offer strategies for young adults to stay well connected with God during the most exciting, challenging and often uncertain times of personal growth and development.  The Bible provides instructions to help young adults grow and maintain a connection with God to enhance decision-making, relationships, educational options, career opportunities, sexuality and Christian living, and how to live in the world without dying to Christ.
